First Day Of The Rest Of My Life
Well, tonight was the big night; graduation. I wasn't nervous all day until the hours began growing closer to crunch time. I had so many butterflies when we got to the colloseum. My mom and cousin dropped me off so that they could regroup with the rest of my family so I was going solo for a few hours until I saw them in the stands taking pictures of me. The whole ordeal went very well actually, save for a few over zealous families what went wild over their child. Those people were basically being disresectful though because their hoots and hollers made it difficult to hear the next student's name being called out. My mom said that the lady next to her was screaming and almost made her miss my name. She also said that had she missed my name she would have killed that woman because she's waited 17 years to see me walk across that stage. I believe her too, and I don't blame her one bit. Magnet's graduations are supposed to be dignified and honorable and it is out of respect that every student and their family should be allowed to hear their name being called. There were a few incidents but the police were everywhere so the perps were "escorted" out of the arena. I like to play with the idea that those people were beaten before being tossed out; the likelyhood of that actually happening is slim to none but still. I spent a good deal of time looking for my family after the ceremony was over but they were just waiting for me outside one of the side doors. We went home and I got a few presents: A card with $20 from my uncle's girlfriend Christina, a Mach 3 super shaving kit, A nice leather carry-on bag that's big enough for me to use to help carry my books and stuff to class in college, a small leather bag filled with my essentials for college (toothpaste, anti-perserant, chap stick, a bottle of 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, etc.), and a small travel size pouch with fingernail clippers, metal nail file, metal old tyme razor, etc. I really loved all of my gifts because they're so practical and its all what I need. My Aunt is going to buy me a silk pajama and robe set in about a week and im really looking forward to feeling that against my skin. After my presents we all ate our fill of Crayfish and then had some of the best chocolate graduation cake i've ever tasted. I had myself a little mimi blueberry pie too because they're so cute and delicious. All in all I really enjoyed tonight. It was great being at home with my family instead of out partying like I know half of the senior class is still doing right now. Nope, just love and warmth at home for me. So guys, as they say, graduation is the first step in the rest of your life. On that note I believe that my blog should follow suit also. I recorded my highschool adventures and they were mixed as you know. My life does not end there which is why I shall continue blogging on my NEW and IMPROVED blog v. 2.0. Okey dokey folks, it's 12:30 and I am pooped so I believe i'll be hitting the sack now. Toodles.
